thank yous

Hi Heather -

This is Paula, Kimberly's mom. I wanted to let you know how thrilled I was with the makeup you did. I recevied SO many compliments about my makeup and how good I looked. I appreciate the fact you listened when I explained I did not like a heavy makeup and wanted something natural and light. You did an excellent job and I would recommend you to anyone. Feel free to use me as a reference/example. It was funny in that my brother just could not get over how good I looked. Thanks again from helping to make a special day better!

makeup for summer

its hot!! im sweating all my makeup off!! my wedding pictures will be ruined! im so shiny nothing will stay on my face!!

the fix--- if you cant hire me for the day to apply your make up is water proof makeup! its not cakey and it will last! my favorite is by make up forever i think one of the reasons i got into make up was because of my constant struggle with beauty i felt my skin always looked wrong with every bottle or brand i tried nothing ever matched my skin and i looked dull.  summer time is always hard for makeup- the heat plus skin color change makes it difficult to make your face feel pretty in those hot summer months.  i suggest purchasing a nice bottle of water proof makeup and applying a small amount, a little goes a long way, trust me you will be happy you changed up your makeup routine!

cleaning brushes

so often i hear my face is breaking out, i haven't changed anything so why is this happening to me?  The answer is bacteria.  either in your make up or on your applicator.  If you are using makeup that is old, throw it out.  unless you have maintained spritzing alcohol on it once in awhile, its a breeding ground for zits...and more.  The number one stem of the problem is not cleaning your brushes.  You can buy a brush cleaner at any makeup store like mac or sephoria.  after every use you should clean your brushes.  If you use a sponge, only use it once then throw it out.  Also avoid using fingers on the face to apply makeup, if you do make sure you wash your hands before doing so.

Brows

The most important part of framing your face, and most people over look this step, weather its fear or just being unaware of this important step in making your face. I like to start clean slate, meaning i apply my face make up before my eyes, preference only. never pencil in your brows, unless you want to look like your applied them with a sharpie. the idea is to look natural and flow with your natural beauty.  for those who are blessed with brows, use an edged brush, and a brown eye shadow, choose something lighter then your brow hair,  unless your fair blond you want to see the brows but you also want them to be strong enough you can see them in a photo.  For those who are fair blonde's and live in fear of there eye brows being darker then there hair, don't, you want to use your eye brows to frame your face, making you appear younger! which brings me to shaping. Don't do anything crazy follow the natural lines of your eye brows for those with very little hair follow as best you can without going crazy.  Once your over the age of 18 your brows start to shrinking, meaning they get shorter which makes you look older...a great tip is to drag your brush out a little longer then your natural brow but not exceeding the frame of your eye...dont take it to your hair line or past your crows feet.  I like using eye shadow but for those who like to add more then color to the brow benefit makes a great product  that includes wax and eye brow flattering colors. I am a light blonde with dark lashes and brows i use MAC's eye shadow in CORK. this color will be flattering for many.

the most rewarding part of what i do...

This is from Bride Kim whos wedding i did  on May 1st, its most amazing and rewarding touching other people with your passions. Thank you so much Kim for a beautiful note!

So aside form our wedding day being the BEST, most AMAZING and most Memorable day of our lives I want to personally thank a couple people. First off..Heather Canace. She was our make up artist! Needless to say throughout the process of trying to find a make up artist it was hell for me! I had found Heather and had just talked to her on the phone and through emails. After I had done many trials previously with other girls I told her everything id experienced and with the schedule I had I did not have time to do another trial. So with that said not having done a trial I was SO nervous! But when we had talked she truly listened to the vision I had, what I was afraid of ect. Well the day of the wedding she met us at the hotel and was early (BIG plus for me) because now a days everyone runs late to everything! She got everything set up and ready to go. We were ahead of schedule and what I loved most about her work ethic is that she listened to everyone and didn’t try to be the typical mac make up girl know it all. She does both free hand and air brush and after having experience airbrush make up with her I am obsessed!! She was so sweet and so friendly everyone loved her. Especially my mama because my mom (as most of you know) is the make up wearing type! So my mom was apprehensive to having someone do it also after the trial she experienced! She talked to Heather and Heather did exactly what my mom had wanted. Not only did my mom look simply amazing she felt great, and people complimented her make up all day!! So Heather thank you thank you thank you and I will be calling you every time I have some where to go!! :)

Tired eyes

I get this questions often, we ALL get them, after you become an adult you just don't have enough time to get in a full rested nights sleep, especially when stressfull matters are at hand its impossible to get enough rest that the body need to recover.  Other then sleep there are many quick fixes to help our tired eyes appear less tired.  for Puffy eyes an on the spot fix is preparation H, this is not a cure and after a full day the effect fades away.  To help the thin skin around the eye use a daily moisturizer before bed and in the morning.  Boxtox can be used for crows feet, for those who aren't uncomfortable with needles, again this doesn't last forever about 6 months, and will prevent wrinkles around the eye area, also most popular for foreheads.  This is also not a cure but will prevent any further "damaging" to the sensitive skin on the face. I realize botox isn't for everyone but for some it is a great fix.  The number one cure for the tired eye area is to avoid sun damage this goes with the rest of the face, however this extremely sensitive area really shows age when not protected.  For me i use a sunless tanner that i spray on my face almost every morning. I use and sell infinity suns glow on the go.  For those mornings with dark circles Under the eyes i recommend not to over do it with large amounts of heavy cover up. Remember less is always more, stay close to your skin tone, going a bit darker with a camouflage, i like makeup forever, apply a small amount to the dark area under the eye before applying foundation. But if possible, just try and get some rest!
